The Company

One of Ireland's leading Tier 1 Main Contractors is looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager for a major mixed-use development in Galway City. This is a substantial multi-storey project combining residential apartments, hospitality, retail and commercial space, leisure facilities and associated amenity areas. With several different elements being delivered as part of the same development, this is a complex and high-profile Galway project offering excellent long-term experience with a major Irish contractor.

The Role: Site Manager

As Site Manager, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day management and coordination of works on this major development, working closely with the Project Manager, Engineers, subcontractors and wider site team. You'll manage subcontractors, drive the programme and ensure works are delivered safely and to a high standard. With residential, hospitality and commercial elements involved, you'll be coordinating multiple trades and packages across a busy multi-storey construction environment.

Must Have Requirements

• 5+ years' experience in construction site management
• Strong main contractor experience
• Experience delivering large-scale building projects
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing and site operations
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors and drive programme
• Strong understanding of quality and Health & Safety requirements

Preferred Experience

• Multi-storey residential or mixed-use construction experience
• Large commercial or hotel project experience beneficial
• Experience with a Tier 1 or major Irish contractor advantageous
• Relevant construction qualification beneficial

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day construction activities on site
• Coordinate and manage subcontractors and trades
• Drive works in line with the construction programme
• Coordinate with the Project Manager, Engineers and design team
• Monitor quality and ensure works meet required specifications
• Manage labour, materials and site logistics
• Ensure Health & Safety procedures are maintained
• Attend progress and coordination meetings
• Manage inspections, snagging and completion of works
• Identify potential programme issues and resolve them early

About You

You'll be an experienced Site Manager who is comfortable taking ownership of a busy section of a major multi-storey development. You'll be strong on subcontractor management, sequencing, programme and quality, with the ability to coordinate multiple trades and keep works moving. This role will suit someone who enjoys working on large, technically varied projects and wants to progress with one of Ireland's leading contractors.
