Site Engineer

A leading Irish Main Contractor is seeking a Site Engineer to join their team on a range of commercial, industrial, and educational projects based in Galway.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Carry out accurate setting out and dimensional control on site.
• Work closely with the Senior Engineer and wider construction team to ensure projects are delivered on programme.
• Interpret design drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Liaise with subcontractors, consultants, and project teams on a daily basis.
• Monitor quality control procedures and ensure works are completed to required standards.
• Assist with inspections, snagging, and project handover processes.
• Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments, and inspection plans.
• Maintain accurate site records, daily diaries, and material delivery documentation.
• Attend site meetings and contribute to short-term programme planning.
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety regulations and company procedures.

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Engineering or related discipline.
• 2+ years' experience working with a Main Contractor in Ireland.
• Strong setting out experience using Total Station and GPS equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Good understanding of Irish building regulations and site procedures.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Safepass and Manual Handling required.
