Sister/Charge Nurse - Cath Lab

This role supports high quality patient care in the cath lab and across the Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. The post holder works with the multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent care at all stages of the patient journey - from pre assessment to post procedure safe discharge.

The role requires:

• Experience in the cath lab, including theatre scrub and circulating nurse skills
• Recovery nurse skills and experience in pre assessment of patients for cath lab procedures
• Ability to support the smooth running of the cardiology service

Main duties of the job

• Deliver day to day excellent patient care, including pre assessment, theatre work as scrub and circulating nurse, and post procedure recovery.
• Document data safely and accurately on the electronic patient record and oversee the planning and running of lists.
• Order stock and manage administrative responsibilities.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support service delivery.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Trust policies.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
• Work under pressure.

Qualifications

• Evidence of post registration study/courses.

Experience

• Cath lab theatre, recovery and pre assessment experience.
• Experience in planning care and evaluating a variety of cardiology patients, including emergency and complex care.
