Ensuring the efficient running of our busy Outpatient Department at Mexborough Montagu, support and Deputise for the Outpatient Manager. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all members of the MDT, Consultants and Patients. Enthusiastic and motivated with a strong "can do" attitude that replicates your own desire to succeed. Co-ordinate activity and be responsible for patient care and safety. Be instrumental to the patient experience, ensuring seamless, personalised care. Apply your knowledge and skills in assessment, care planning and delivery. Champion a supportive, enabling working culture on the department, promoting staff safety and education.
Flexibility to cover clinic delays and Patient transport delays is essential.
Main duties of the job- Managing and supporting the Outpatients team to ensure delivery of safe, high quality nursing care
- Managing the provision of the high standard of care in outpatients in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team.
- Developing the outpatient's service in conjunction with the Outpatient Manager and multidisciplinary team, in line with the Trusts Strategy utilising evidence based practice.
- Providing professional leadership to outpatients nursing teams ensuring an environment of empowerment through coaching, teaching and facilitation.
- Facilitating organisational change and service improvement in line with Trust vision and strategy.

Person Specification Qualifications & Training- Registered nurse with current NMC registration
- Up to date knowledge of professional issues
- Mentorship /Teaching Qualification or equivalent qualification or experience
- Leadership Qualification
- Evidence in academic achievement
- Evidence of learning and development in line with Revalidation requirements
- Evidence of department management under supervision
- Experience working in co-ordinator role / leading the unit
- Experience in Ophthalmology, Vascular and Surgical procedures
- Experience of Eroster and Clinical IT systems
- Demonstrate knowledge of dealing with conflict supporting staff through mechanisms such as clinical supervision
- Demonstrate positive verbal and written communication skills with multidisciplinary team/client/relatives
- Demonstrate a caring manner with an understanding disposition
- Be interested and committed to caring for people from any culture and environmental background or illness
- Demonstrate an understanding of leadership and empowerment issues
- Experience of undertaking PDA's
- Experience of managing sickness absence
