Signalling Project Engineer RAIL

London Based Rail contractor who is looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join this experienced team based in London. This Tier 1 Rail contractor wins work on high profile projects and has a healthy order book which includes this new project starting shortly.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager / Project Manager, you will be responsible for undertaking engineering duties both on site and in the office as directed, including managing site installers.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience of Signalling installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Experience in technical approvals of signalling designs, including IDC/IDR review process.
• Experience of working to relevant construction standards and tolerances.
• Desirable: experience with London Underground and Network Rail Signalling Systems.
• Good knowledge of other rail disciplines and their interfaces.
• Previous experience managing sub-contractors.
• IT literate.
• Educated to a degree level or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering or relevant subject.
• Desirable: 7.8.110Fv1 - Engineering Manager (Project Engineering).

The Role:

• Production of paperwork such as WPP, TBS, relevant permits, Inspection and Test Plans, risk assessments; and producing As Builts and relevant assurance documentation.
• Management of on-site signalling installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Working directly with the construction manager to plan and resource the works, including review and updating project programmes.
• Reviewing design documentation in line with all relevant company and client standards, undertaking constructability and value engineering reviews. This includes writing technical queries as required.
