Shop Supervisor

Location: Sue Ryder Charity shop, 3-4 Wellington Way, Waterlooville PO7 7ED
Hours: 15 hours per week over 7 days
Pay: £12.36 per hour + rewards & benefits

Sue Ryder is one of the largest charity retailers in the UK with over 400 shops. Every item sold in our shops generates funding so we can continue to provide 2.7 million hours of expert medical, practical, bereavement and emotional support each year in hospices, homes and the community. Our shops include boutiques, vintage and retro shops, and large format stores.

Responsibilities
  • Use your retail experience to drive business and achieve sales targets.
  • Lead a team to deliver excellent customer service to donors and customers.
  • Work with the local community to secure donated stock and drive sales.
  • Recruit, train and retain a volunteer team, providing leadership and guidance.
  • Set high standards of merchandising, housekeeping and health & safety.
  • Manage effective stock processes, ensuring the shop is well merchandised with fresh, seasonal stock.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for Sue Ryder, supporting in store campaigns and national fundraising initiatives.
  • Operate the EPOS system and handle effective stock management.
Minimum Essential Criteria
  • Customer service experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Cash handling/till work experience.
  • Basic IT skills (emails, instant messaging, video calls).
  • Organisational skills.
  • Lone working experience.
Desirable Criteria
  • High street retail, leisure or hospitality background.
  • Experience with KPIs and targets.
  • Charity retail experience.
  • Health & safety knowledge.
  • Team player.
  • Key holder and opening/closing experience.
  • Merchandising and stock rotation skills.
