Shift Manager
Location: Clifton College, 32 College Road, Clifton, Bristol BS8 3JH
Salary: £14.42 per hour
Hours: 37.5 per week
Working Pattern: Mon, Tues 12 8 pm / Wed, Thur & Fri 6:30 2:30 pm

Responsibilities
  • Support the day to day operation of the College's catering services, ensuring a high standard of service at all times.
  • Lead, motivate and supervise team members throughout your shift, delegating tasks and ensuring work is completed effectively.
  • Assist with the training and development of new and existing team members.
  • Work closely with managers and colleagues to drive operational efficiency and continuously improve service delivery.
  • Ensure all health, safety, food hygiene and COSHH procedures are followed and maintained.
  • Monitor equipment and work areas to maintain a safe, clean and well organised environment.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and help create a positive experience for pupils, staff and visitors.
  • Assist with hospitality and catering events across the College as needed.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or management role, ideally within catering, hospitality or customer service.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, support and develop team members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with colleagues, customers and stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proactive, solutions focused approach and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Good organisational and problem solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • A commitment to delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining high operational standards.
  • Sound computer skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A positive, flexible and self motivated attitude, with a willingness to learn and adapt to changing business needs.
  • A strong understanding of health and safety requirements and the importance of leading by example.
