Purpose of Job

The purpose of this role is to ensure all environmental conditions are maintained at all times concerning critical building systems. The supervisor will oversee the daily operation of a shift, performing PPM and reactive tasks at the contracted site. Working hours are from 6 am to 6 pm on a continental shift pattern. Candidates must demonstrate relevant knowledge of air conditioning, UPS, generators, LV systems, including fault-finding skills using graphical data and current alarm systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Carry out routine PPM on all M&E plant as per site schedules and asset lists.
2. Complete reactive tasks and proactively identify areas for improvement, including store and fabric-related issues.
3. Manage subcontractors to ensure contractual requirements are met, including approvals and safe operation during repairs.
4. Operate a Permit to Work system in accordance with BGIS quality, health & safety procedures, and client requirements.
5. Promptly remedy plant faults and defects to keep equipment operational.
6. Maintain availability of suitable spares, providing parts lists and time estimates for remedial works.
7. Complete all paperwork related to reactive and breakdown works promptly, updating the CAFM system.
8. Prepare, review, and utilize Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks to ensure safety.
9. Develop good working relationships with BGIS staff, subcontractors, and client representatives.
10. Provide a safe and healthy working environment, including wearing PPE and uniforms.
11. Present a professional image of BGIS to clients at all times.
12. Keep plant rooms locked, clean, and tidy.
13. Supervise and monitor subcontractor activities on-site.
14. Ensure assigned tasks are completed appropriately and with safety awareness.
15. Maintain awareness and compliance with contractual KPIs/SLA's.
16. Keep CMMS (e.g., Maximo) updated, closing tickets with accurate data.
17. Perform any other tasks as directed by site management.
18. Ensure the engineering team produces required reports and records, escalating non-compliance.
19. Proactively check the operation of the LOTO system according to safety procedures.
20. Monitor building environmental conditions via BMS and maintain acceptable internal conditions.
21. Complete shift reports to the required standard.

Accountabilities

1. Report to the Contract Supervisor or Technical Manager.
2. Work collaboratively within the team.
3. This role does not have direct budget responsibilities.
4. Report indirectly to the Contract Manager.
5. May have direct report staff, such as shift technicians or day staff.
