SHEQ Manager

Overview

SHEQ Manager position for an engineering industry client based in Clevedon (BS21). Salary up to £45,000 per annum, with pension, holiday, private health, life assurance and a bonus scheme. The role is suitable for an established SHEQ Manager or SHEQ Advisor looking to progress.

Alternate job titles include HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment), EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety), and QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) at Manager, Advisor, or Coordinator levels. The role is commutable from Bristol, Portishead, Weston-super-Mate, Bath and Cheddar.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain SHEQ policies, procedures, and systems.
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including ISO standards.
• Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and site inspections.
• Provide SHEQ training, guidance, and support to employees.
• Lead incident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor and report on SHEQ performance metrics.
• Collaborate with management to establish a strong safety and quality culture.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience in a SHEQ management role, preferably within a manufacturing, engineering, or construction environment.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification (essential).
• IEMA or NEBOSH Environmental Management (desirable).
• IOSH membership (desirable).
• Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
