Job Description

This SHEQ Manager role is based in London, you'll play a critical role in supporting operational teams, contractors, clients, and regulatory bodies-ensuring full compliance with legislation, industry standards, and best practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery and ongoing development of SHEQ initiatives within the Gas division
  • Provide clear and practical SHEQ guidance to staff, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards including ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001
  • Drive the investigation and reporting of incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
  • Support audits and monitor SHEQ performance across sites
  • Encourage a proactive safety culture through visible leadership and engagement
  • Develop and implement SHEQ plans and improvement projects
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date SHEQ documentation and reporting
  • Work collaboratively with all areas of the business to promote best practice

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a SHEQ management role within the utilities or engineering sectors
  • Proven background in gas distribution (e.g. experience with Cadent, SGN, or similar)
  • Strong working knowledge of NRSWA, HSG47, and ISO standards
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Skilled communicator with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Track record of successfully delivering SHEQ improvement initiatives
  • Self-motivated, with a passion for driving continual improvement and influencing positive change
