Our client is a longstanding and innovative organisation operating within the timber processing and manufacturing sector. Sustainability, safety, and environmental responsibility are central to their approach, providing high-quality timber products across the construction, fencing, and pallet industries. With multiple sites and ongoing investment in people and processes, the company maintains a strong focus on quality, environmental performance, and continuous improvement.
- Minimum of five years' health and safety experience, including at least three years within manufacturing or heavy industry
- BSc (Hons) in Occupational Health & Safety, NEBOSH Diploma, or equivalent qualification
- Strong knowledge of current health and safety legislation and ISO 45001 standards
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 standards would be advantageous
- Experience in policy development, risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations
- Skilled in delivering effective health and safety training
- Strong report-writing and numerical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve SHEQ policies and procedures in line with legislation and company standards.
- Champion a positive safety culture across multiple sites, engaging with employees and management to promote safe behaviours.
- Lead risk assessments, audits, workplace inspections, and incident investigations, ensuring timely and effective follow-up.
- Develop and deliver SHEQ training programmes for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Partner with site leadership, operational teams, and external authorities to maintain compliance and identify opportunities for ongoing improvement.
