Your new companyWe are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation that delivers facilities management and accommodation maintenance services across the UK Defence estate, supporting military personnel and their operational requirements.Your new roleWe are currently recruiting for an experienced Service Manager to join a high-performing facilities management team responsible for delivering maintenance services across a complex operational estate.Reporting to the Built Estate Manager, this role will require you to manage the delivery and assurance of all reactive and programmed maintenance, and Billable Works on site, ensuring that all Health & Safety requirements are met.This role will see you oversee the delivery of reactive & programmed maintenance on the Establishment to ensure key performance indicators are met and tasks are completed to a standard that meets the contractual 'First Time Fix's requirements, undertake programmed maintenance inspections and assurance activities, provideTechnical support and advice as required to representatives for review. All Inspection Reports and certification raising the necessary remedial tasking and SONs for work.You will also work closely with Mobile APs to ensure that all applicable works conform to the requirements of JSP 375, identifyopportunities to reduce energy consumption on site and initiate Billable Works as appropriate by the raising of Statements of Need, manageFGas and waste compliance within the establishment, support the Line Manager in providing optimal solutions to customer requirements, including acting as single point of contact to resolve end-user issues, and ensure that all complaints are resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner.A strong understanding of compliance and assurance is essential. You will ensure all maintenance activities are delivered in accordance with statutory, contractual, and health and safety requirements, maintaining robust records through CAFM systems and ensuring all associated documentation remains accurate and up to date.Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the delivery of reactive maintenance, PPM, remedial works, and Billable Works.
- Manage contractor and supplier performance to ensure service excellence, value for money, and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Monitor operational performance, identifying risks and implementing solutions to maintain service delivery standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and operational teams.
- Ensure all activities are delivered in line with health, safety, environmental, and statutory requirements.
- Maintain accurate asset, compliance, and maintenance records within CAFM systems.
- Support the planning, mobilisation, and successful delivery of additional works and minor projects.
- Conduct assurance checks and drive continuous improvement across service delivery.
- Provide technical guidance and support to operational teams and stakeholders.
Full time - Monday to FridayColerne, WiltshireWhat you'll need to succeedThe ideal candidate will:- Proven experience managing service delivery within facilities management, property maintenance, engineering, or a similar operational environment.- Strong understanding of reactive maintenance, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), remedial works, safe systems of work, and statutory compliance requirements.- Experience coordinating and managing contractors, suppliers, and operational teams to deliver services against performance targets and KPIs.- Technical background in an electrical or mechanical discipline, ideally supported by a Level 3 qualification or equivalent practical experience.- Knowledge of CAFM systems and industry standards such as JSP 375, SFG20, and health and safety management processes.- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems proactively, and maintain attention to detail.- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.- Experience within facilities management, defence contracts, or other regulated estates would be advantageous.- Relevant qualifications such as IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH, SMSTS, or CDM Awareness are desirable.- A customer-focused, solutions-driven approach with a commitment to delivering safe, compliant, and high-quality services.- Ability to obtain and maintain SC Security Clearance vetting.What you'll get in returnThe successful candidate will receive a salary between £40,000-£45000 per annum dependant on experience, as well as:
