Job Description
Vacancy Qualification Summary (Using the Script) Motivation
  • Current engineer leaving next week - this is a live, active vacancy.

  • The business needs to replace quickly, but not willing to rush the process.

  • There are already a couple of first-stage interviews lined up next week.

  • Other agencies involved, but they are open to reviewing better candidates.

Duties & Requirements
  • Core focus: Field Service Engineer working on air compressors and rotating equipment.

  • Experience desired:

    • Ideally from another manufacturer (e.g. Atlas Copco, Ingersoll Rand).

    • Alternatively, experienced technicians from pumps, motors, or vacuum systems backgrounds.

  • Level of candidate: Flexible - junior through senior depending on compressor experience.

  • Top 3 must-haves:

    1. Experience in air compressors or related rotating equipment.

    2. Field service experience.

    3. Based in or near the M62 corridor.

  • Progression: Potential to move into a Senior Service Technician position for highly experienced candidates who can handle technical support responsibilities.

Location & Travel
  • Based out of Huddersfield HQ.

  • Coverage area: M62 Corridor - primarily Yorkshire, Manchester, and Lincolnshire, occasionally extending to Blackpool.

  • Company has engineers covering South Wales and South England, so this role focuses on the North/Midlands region.

Package & Benefits
  • Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 basic (flexible depending on experience).

    • Up to £45,000 possible for a senior hire with compressor expertise.

  • Overtime: Time and a half outside of 8:00-16:30 hours.

    • Typical earnings up to £40-45k OTE with overtime and bonuses.

  • On-call rota: 1 week in every 6-7.

    • Paid retainer, with double time for callouts.

    • Sundays and bank holidays paid double; day in lieu given if on call.

  • Benefits:

    • Company van, phone, and credit card for expenses.

    • Driving bonus: up to £250 per quarter based on driving score (approx. £1,000 per year).

    • Incentive scheme: engineers can earn commission (approx. £3-4k per year) for upselling new equipment or repair work.

Terms & Commercials
  • Verto proposed three-tier structure:

    • 18% (2-month rebate)

    • 19% (3-month rebate)

    • 20% (4-month rebate, most popular option)

  • Joe stated they usually work on 15% with other agencies but open to review if justified.

  • Ollie to send terms of business including an option for 15% without free replacement and 17-19% with free replacement for comparison.
