Service Delivery Manager (Defence Team)

NCC

Bristol based - predominantly on site with limited hybrid working

Travel: You will be required to travel between two close sites in North Bristol and further travel may be needed on an ad-hoc basis with clients.

Salary: £54,102 to £67,056 per annum experience dependent, plus 12.5% employer pension contribution and private medical insurance.

Security Clearance: You would be required to undergo a high level of government security clearance once in role and we'll support getting you cleared.

NCC is the UK's defence innovation partner! We're expanding rapidly and supporting a range of interesting new projects in the Defence, Energy, Space, Marine and Technology sectors. We're a medium sized not for profit company, with a wonderful collaborative culture and this is a new position for the company due to strong natural growth.

Sitting within our IT department and partnering with our Secure Operations department, you'll first build, recruit and then subsequently lead and manage the IT Secure Operations service delivery team to ensure that the services meet the needs of the Secure Operations Team.

You'll workhand in hand with our IT Service Delivery Manager and the IT Operations Manager outside of the secure operations team to ensure that consistently high standards are maintained.

Specifically, you'll -
  • Build, recruits, lead and motivates the new IT Secure Operations delivery team.
  • Designs, implements and continuously improves the service support and delivery processes; ensuring that these are aligned with both ITIL best practises and existing IT Operations procedures.
  • Problem Management through trend analysis and prevention
  • Designs and creates detailed KPI reporting to support SLT
  • Manages the IT Secure Operations run budget.
  • Takes ownership of Incident, Request, Change and Escalation processes.
  • Chairs the Change Advisory Board when required.
  • Creates standard operating procedures for key service delivery functions.
  • Defines requirements for tools and platforms to support the secure delivery of IT Secure Operations.
  • Supports the technical development and delivery of internal secure working environments.
  • Takes responsibility for the service transition and onboarding of all new services.
  • Maintains the required levels of Security Clearance, as defined by the scope of the role.

What we'll look for in your application:

We will prioritise applications with background in fields such as defence, engineering, R&D or manufacturing industries.

  • Be eligible and willing to undertake a high level of government security clearance. No existing clearance required.
  • Proven experience of working in a Service Delivery Manager (or similar) role with 3 years' minimum experience over your career.
  • Well rounded IT knowledge from career running up to Service Delivery Management experience.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills and listening skills. Ability to act as a bridge between business, technical, and security stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing and building teams.
  • ITIL v4 foundation qualification
  • Familiarity with implementing best practices across Microsoft environments.
  • Awareness of common regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus).
  • Experience of working in Security Controlled Environment.
  • Awareness of telephony systems
  • Awareness of various software licensing models
  • Strong demonstrable vendor management skills
