Job Description

We are currently recruiting for the position of Service Advisor in Wigan on behalf of a leading motor retail group.

Duties of a Service Advisor
  • Greet customers warmly and ensure they feel valued and confident in our services
  • Clearly communicate available services, repairs, and supplementary products
  • Promote upselling of additional services, warranties, accessories, and loyalty programmes
  • Record customer vehicle details and service requirements accurately, obtaining necessary authorisations
  • Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business
  • Manage service and parts sales, including warranty policies and promotional offers
  • Maintain a professional, clean, and well organised reception area
  • Liaise effectively with workshop staff to facilitate smooth scheduling and vehicle flow
  • Oversee accurate invoicing and cost documentation
  • Handle administrative tasks related to bookings, paperwork, and customer records
  • Resolve customer issues promptly and courteously, maintaining high standards of service
Requirements of a Service Advisor
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective customer and team engagement
  • Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Customer-centric approach with a professional and friendly demeanor
  • Prior experience as a Service Advisor or in an automotive customer service role is preferred
  • Technical knowledge of vehicle servicing, repairs, and warranty procedures is advantageous
  • Ability to process payments accurately and efficiently
  • Familiarity with computerised recording systems and reporting tools
  • Knowledge of warranty procedures, vehicle legislation, and trade practices is desirable
