Job Description
The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced insurance lawyer to step into a broad and influential role, working closely with senior leadership to provide practical legal advice, manage regulatory requirements, and help drive key business initiatives.


Office: Please note that this role requires a minimum of four days per week in the office, providing excellent opportunities for collaboration and business engagement.

What you'll do

  • Lead legal, regulatory, and compliance matters for a specialist insurance platform operating within the London market.

  • Provide strategic advice on insurance, governance, regulatory, and commercial issues across the business.

  • Oversee legal, compliance, and corporate governance activities.

  • Support engagement with industry bodies, regulators, and other key external stakeholders.

  • Advise senior management on risk, governance, and business-critical initiatives.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial and operational agreements.

  • Support data protection, regulatory, and compliance frameworks across the organisation.

  • Manage external legal advisers and oversee legal spend.

  • Collaborate with colleagues across multiple jurisdictions on legal and regulatory matters.

  • Provide support for board and committee governance activities and related corporate matters.


Who we're looking for

  • Qualified solicitor with significant post-qualification experience gained in the insurance industry.

  • Strong insurance and reinsurance background, with strong exposure to the London market and regulated environments.

  • Experience advising on regulatory, governance, compliance, and commercial matters.

  • Familiarity with UK and European regulatory frameworks.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • Commercial, pragmatic, and solutions-oriented approach.

  • Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
