Senior Workday Functional Analyst

Location: Rotterdam

Type: Full-time, permanent

A mission-driven infrastructure provider at the heart of Europe's green transition is hiring a Workday Functional Consultant to help enhance and evolve their Workday landscape.

As part of an established internal HR Tech team, you'll play a key role in optimising configuration, improving cross-module processes, and supporting new Workday feature rollouts, including the upcoming deployment of Workday Extend.

This is a long-term role in a stable, purpose-led business that's taking a thoughtful, internal-first approach to HR systems.

You'll work closely with HR, Talent, Finance, and IT partners to ensure the platform supports strategic workforce initiatives while staying compliant and user-friendly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support functional configuration and optimisation across key Workday modules, including HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, Absence, Talent & Performance, and Reporting
  • Help design and implement Workday Extend solutions, working in close collaboration with product owners and developers
  • Partner with HR stakeholders to enhance business processes and deliver user-friendly, scalable improvements
  • Monitor release updates and evaluate new Workday features for value and impact, with hands-on involvement in testing and deployment
  • Assist in managing integrations with adjacent HR systems and tools
  • Contribute to HR systems harmonisation, change documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate in Agile sprint planning, retrospectives, and cross-functional collaboration sessions

Your Background

  • 3+ years of Workday experience in a functional consulting or HRIS capacity
  • Proven ability to configure and improve multiple Workday modules, especially HCM and at least two of: Recruiting, Comp, Absence, or Talent
  • Strong process thinking and ability to communicate system impacts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working in Agile or DevOps-style teams is highly valued
  • Familiarity with Workday Extend, or interest in upskilling into it
  • Confident with business process mapping, testing strategies, and user training
  • Comfortable working in English

Why Join?

  • Help shape the future of HR Tech in an organisation that's genuinely aligned with purpose and sustainability
  • Long-term career opportunity in a stable, well-resourced company that prioritises in-house capability over consultancy churn
  • Structured hybrid model: typically 2 days a week on-site in Rotterdam, rest remote
  • Flexible working culture and a clear investment in employee wellbeing and development
  • Competitive base salary plus extensive benefits: personal development budget, sustainable mobility perks, generous leave, and access to company-wide green initiatives
