We're looking for a Senior Visitor Experience Officer with great practical and people skills, who loves to inspire and delight by providing top-quality experiences for visitors.
Reporting to the Experience and Visitor Programming Manager, you'll provide practical support to plan, design and install high quality, large scale visitor programming elements throughout the year, outdoors predominantly.
Salary: £11,403.6 per annum
Contract: Permanent, part-time, 15 hours a week.
What it's like to work hereAttingham welcomes 600,000 visitors a year. This is a busy and thriving place full of life and locally loved. The National Trust team here today conserves and cares for the estate carrying on the legacy of the eighth Lord and Lady Berwick who left the estate to the National Trust in 1947.

Attingham Park is arguably Shropshire's greatest estate. Built in 1785 and owned by the same family for five generations, today it is around 4,000 acres in size, and at its heart is a mansion, parkland, walled garden, play space, deer park and various food and beverage and retail outlets.
As part of the Visitor Experience team, you'll be focused on achieving the highest standards of presentation and service, helping everything to run smoothly during projects, events, active conservation work, busy school holidays throughout the year.
You'll design and install infrastructure to support the visitor programme outdoors and indoors at Attingham, using your practical skills to build structures and frames for the programme, as well as design and install lighting experiences.
You'll carry out duty management as needed, and will work regular weekends on a rota basis. Sometimes you may need to get stuck in and help wherever you're needed. You'll be responsible on the day for the smooth running of the property during opening hours, acting as the main contact point for staff, volunteers, and customers in case of emergency, enquiry or complaint.
You'll have plenty of opportunities to talk to visitors, introducing them to all that makes Attingham Park so special. You may also be managing and supervising others, including volunteers.

- Knowledge of audience engagement and inclusive programming in heritage or cultural settings
- Strong leadership and team co ordination skills
- Ability to respond to operational challenges with agility and professionalism
- Ability to effectively monitor budgets and track performance
- Deep understanding of health and safety, safeguarding, and compliance in public environments
Additional criteria for all other applicants:
- Practical skills for installing indoor and outdoor programming infrastructure (e.g. carpentry, electrical work, or DIY).
- Flexibility to support setup, maintenance, and takedown of activities
- Experience of designing and installing visitor experiences in a historic environment.
- Experience of meeting deadlines, working both individually as well as in a team.
- Well organised, and able to work at pace and keep to time
- The ability to deliver projects with strict deadlines
