Senior VAT Manager

• Advise UK and international clients on VAT and other indirect tax implications of international trade
• Advise education and public sector clients on VAT liability of income and VAT recovery, including partial exemption and business/non-business issues
• Analyse VAT implications of residential and commercial property transactions and developments
• Manage client relationships and expectations
• Scope project proposals, monitor budgets and billing
• Communicate key VAT developments internally and externally through articles, webinars and social media
• Contribute to business development activities and key sector groups, including Manufacturing, Education and Real Estate
• Work closely with the VAT Partner and wider tax leadership team to grow the VAT service line
• Mentor junior team members

Requirements

• Extensive VAT experience gained from an accountancy practice or HMRC environment
• CTA qualification ideally, but not essential
• Experience managing a diverse portfolio of VAT clients across multiple sectors
• Proven track record of growing fee revenues
• Some experience advising on Customs Duty considerations alongside VAT beneficial
• Examples of successful business development activity led
• People management experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong desire to contribute to Bishop Fleming's overall success
• Confirmation of right to work in the UK required for successful applicants
