Transport Planner - Development Consultancy
Location: UK-based, flexible working with minimum 3 days in-office
A leading multidisciplinary consultancy is looking to strengthen its Development Consultancy team with the appointment of a Transport Planner. This role offers the chance to work on high-profile projects across the public and private sectors, advising developer clients and delivering innovative solutions in property, development, and infrastructure.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, and Travel Plans to support planning applications.
Carry out junction capacity modelling using industry-standard software such as JUNCTIONS and LINSIG.
Analyse data and produce clear, evidence-based reports for submission to local authorities and clients.
Liaise effectively with local authorities, highway officers, and other stakeholders.
Manage projects independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary internal teams.
What We're Looking For
Experience in private consultancy, ideally within transport planning or a multidisciplinary environment.
Proven track record advising developer clients on planning and transport matters.
Proficiency in junction modelling and capacity analysis software.
Strong technical writing skills with experience producing professional reports.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Flexibility in working patterns, with a minimum of three office-based days preferred.
Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering, or a related subject.
Logical and analytical approach to problem-solving with the ability to think creatively.
Work experience in Transport Planning, Highway Design, or Town Planning is advantageous but not essential.
