Senior Test Engineer

On behalf of DWP, we are looking for a Senior Test Engineer for a 12 month (Inside IR35). This is a hybrid role, with 2-3 days per week required in Leeds.

As a Senior Test Engineer your main responsibilities will be:
. Test Strategy & Planning: Define and implement a comprehensive testing strategy for microservices and APIs, covering both functional and non-functional aspects.
. Automation: Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Java and Cucumber, integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
. Work closely with developers, QA engineers, and product managers in an Agile environment to identify and resolve issues.
. Non-Functional Testing: Lead efforts in performance testing, accessibility compliance, and security validation, ensuring robust observability through monitoring, logging, and tracing.
. Analysis & Reporting: Analyse test results, identify functional & nonfunctional issues, and provide recommendations.
. Evaluate and recommend new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
. Support and mentor junior test engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Essential:
. Strong background in manual and automated software testing.
. Java proficiency for writing and maintaining automation scripts.
. Solid experience with Cucumber and BDD practices.

. Hands on experience in non-functional testing including:
. Performance testing (eg, load, stress, scalability)
. Accessibility testing (eg, WCAG compliance)
. Security testing (eg, vulnerability scanning, auth validation)
. Observability tools and practices (eg, monitoring, logging, tracing)
. Proven track record in Agile/Scrum environments.
. Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (eg, Jenkins, GitLab).
. Familiarity with AWS, Grafana, and Splunk.
. Experience with MongoDB is a plus.
. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
