The Role Cisilion are looking for a Senior Technical Consultant to join our high-performing Professional Services team. In this role, you'll be responsible for consulting, designing, planning, and implementing Cisco-based technical projects. You'll work closely with Principal Technical Consultants, Presales Architects, and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions that meet our clients' needs.
As a Senior Technical Consultant, you will also play a vital role in supporting our Sales and Solutions teams by providing technical expertise that helps secure new business and shape future solutions. Your work will span across technical presentations, solution demonstrations, system design and configuration, proposal and bid response creation, Statements of Work, HLD and LLD documentation. All colleagues must be eligible for Security Clearance and always adhere to Cisilion policies and GDPR best practices.

Typical Deliverables
- Serve as a trusted subject matter expert in relevant technologies, delivering technical presentations, solution demonstrations, and proposal development, with a deep understanding of core Cisco SMB and Enterprise technologies.
- Function as a mentor and technical escalation point, providing expert-level knowledge, peer-level review, and guidance on issue resolution, standards, design, and best practices.
- Collaborate closely with Clients, Account Managers, Project Managers, Solution Architects, and other teams as needed.
- Design and deliver implementation services across diverse clients and technologies, creating technical documentation such as Low and High-Level Designs, diagrams, Requirements Captures, Bills of Materials, SAT/UAT test plans, and Statements of Work (SoW).
- Lead the low-level design, implementation, migration, and testing of technical solutions, including the creation and presentation of customer-facing documentation.
- Facilitate project discovery and design workshops and collaborate with clients to identify commercially viable technical solutions.
- Suspend solutions to our Clients' business and technical problems, interpreting Client requirements and designing technical solutions.
- T ake responsibility for ensuring projects are executed within agreed time, quality, scope, and cost parameters, applying appropriate governance to manage risks, changes, and issues.
- Lead technical role in assigned projects, ensuring solutions align with recognised industry or Cisilion best practices.
- Contribute to the creation of test documentation and scenarios, ensuring personal objectives and KPI targets are met or exceeded.
- Proactively evaluate existing systems, standards, documentation, and procedures, making recommendations for improvement.
- Uphold and enhance Cisilion's brand and that of Operations and Professional Services, both internally and externally.
- Provide technical governance and oversight for one or more teams of consultants and third parties throughout project duration
- Essential: Valid and active Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) - Enterprise
- Essential: Valid and active Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) - Security
- Desirable: Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) - Data Center
- Desirable: Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) / Professional (CCNP) - DevNet
- Desirable: CCNP equivalent in another security vendor such as Fortinet or Palo Alto Networks
- 5+ years of hands-on SMB and Enterprise wired campus consultative design and deployment.
- Demonstrate extensive experience of designing and deploying: Cisco Catalyst and Nexus routing and switching (including traditional and software-defined solutions), Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN, Cisco Secure Firewall, Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Cisco SASE & SSE, advanced routing (BGP, MP-BGP, MPLS, VxLAN EVPN, ECMP, OSPF, Multicast), advanced switching (StackWise Virtual, Spanning Tree, QoS/CoS), and VPN.
- Thorough understanding of: Layer-3 through Layer-7 firewalling, Cisco Wireless, Forward/Reverse Proxy and WAF, Network Access Control (NAC), 802.1X, EAP and PKI, MFA/2FA/Duo.
- Knowledge of additional areas advantageous but not mandatory: Cisco DC/Nexus ACI, UCS, SAN, Fortinet/Palo Alto, Meraki, Azure networking, Terraform/Ansible, among others.
- Leads technically from the front, setting the standard for others to follow.
- Maintain industry-recognised professional-level technical relevance through project delivery, vendor certifications, technical training, vendor relationships, and industry participation.
- Exhibit exceptional skills in time management, planning, and communication.
- Showcase comprehensive knowledge and experience of technical infrastructure hardware, software, and solutions.
- Deliver quality, consistency, and excellence while continuously striving for improvement.
- Bring prior experience from IT services organisations, IT channels, or value-added resellers.

- Flexible about working hours and locations, and willing to travel as needed - onsite visits to Client or Cisilion offices will be required on occasion, as determined by the projects. Where needed, this is typically within the M25/M4 corridor although occasional travel across the UK and Europe may be required.
- Develop, maintain, and demonstrate up-to-date continuous knowledge of relevant products and services.
- A current valid UK driving license is advantageous to support travel to Client sites.
