Job Description:

Senior Sustainability / Building Physics Engineer - Hybrid Bristol Area
£45,000 - £60,000 + benefits + bonus (DOE)
I'm currently working on a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Sustainability / Building Physics Engineer to join a highly regarded and forward-thinking consultancy based just southwest of Bristol. This is a hybrid role (minimum 2 days a week in the office) offering the chance to work on some truly high-impact, award-winning projects across the UK.
This is a great fit for someone who's technically strong, passionate about sustainability, and ready to take the next step in their career-whether that's leading complex energy strategies, mentoring junior engineers, or simply having more say in the projects they care about.
Why this opportunity stands out:

  • Involvement in major developments across education, healthcare, residential, commercial, and leisure sectors
  • Contribution to industry-leading sustainable design practices, including net zero carbon strategies, BREEAM, and Passivhaus
  • A collaborative, experienced team that values innovation, technical excellence, and professional growth
  • What you'll bring to the role:
  • Degree in Building Services, Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, or similar
  • Proficiency with IES, AutoCAD, and ideally Revit
  • Strong understanding of building physics, energy modelling, and embodied carbon assessments
  • Familiarity with current UK regulations (Part L, NPPF, London Plan)
  • Low Carbon Energy Assessor (qualified or working towards)
  • Client-facing confidence and mentoring experience
  • What's in it for you:
  • £45,000 - £60,000 base salary depending on experience
  • Annual performance bonus
  • 25 days holiday (plus public holidays and loyalty increases)
  • 37-hour week with flexible hybrid working
  • Private healthcare, life insurance, and enhanced parental/carer leave
  • Company pension scheme, cycle-to-work initiative
  • Full support towards achieving Chartered status
  • If you're ready for a new challenge in a supportive and innovative environment-let's have a conversation. I'd be happy to share more details and help you explore if this is the right next step in your career.
