Senior Strategy Manager

PHSO is an independent national ombudsman service. We make final decisions on complaints that have not been resolved by the NHS in England, UK government departments, and some other public organisations. We do this fairly and without taking sides. Our service is free.

About the role

This is an exciting time to join PHSO as we prepare to implement our new Corporate Strategy from 1 April 2022 onwards. The Senior Strategy Manager role is a pivotal, newly created position to help deliver the new strategy.

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic, and analytical Senior Strategy Manager who can play a key role in PHSO's future development.

Overseeing the new strategy function, the Senior Strategy Manager will be responsible for leading evidence-based solutions to key cross-organisational strategic challenges. They will provide strategic analysis and problem-solving, examining evidence, and breaking down policy problems into clear project work streams.

They will lead the development of corporate strategy and work closely with the Business Management team to translate strategy into business plans.

The role includes managing a Strategy Adviser and matrix-managing colleagues across the business to ensure engagement and involvement in strategy projects.

The Senior Strategy Manager is responsible for developing corporate strategy and working with the business management team to translate it into actionable plans.

They will lead strategic projects, problem-solving, and analysis, overseeing PHSO's strategy function and team.
