Job Description
Senior Staff Nurse Coronary Care

An exciting Band 6 opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated nurse to join the nursing team on Ward C1 and the Coronary Care Unit in UHW. C3 is a 14 bedded acute cardiology ward and the Coronary Care Unit is an 8 bedded, Level 2 area that provides enhanced care to complex cardiology patients. Candidates should have extensive experience in cardiac nursing at Band 5 level or above, good communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.

Flexible, support oriented, and clinically leadership focused duties are required in an acute setting. Candidates will contribute to shared patient care goals and be responsible for delivering high quality care, participating in audits, risk assessments, and continuous professional development.

Welsh language skills are desirable, but all English and Welsh speakers are welcome to apply.

  • Current NMC registration
  • Evidence of relevant CPD
  • Degree module
  • Teaching & assessing qualification
Experience
  • Extensive cardiology experience at Band 5 or above
  • Experience leading and motivating a team
  • Ability to adapt to changes within the working environment
  • Concerns management
Skills / Knowledge
  • Teaching experience; mentoring staff
  • Clinical expertise in a relevant speciality
  • Experience with audit and risk assessment
