Job Title: Domain Architect - Group IT

Location: Stevenage, Hertfordshire (UK)

Job Type: Full-Time day rate contract

INSIDE IR35 - £up to £875 per day

Technology experience needed: Oracle Fusion, Salesforce, D365, Azure

Experience in infrastructure services: Utilities, Construction or Telecommunications closely related industries

Role Overview

As a Domain Architect within the Group IT function, you will be responsible for designing and implementing IT architecture solutions that align with our business objectives. You will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that our IT capabilities and solutions support the strategic goals of the organisation. The Domain Architect ensures that key issues are identified, understood and that decisions are made in a timely manner to support the delivery of the overall portfolio of work within the assigned domain. The domain architectures focus will be 0 - 24 months into the future.

Responsibilities
  • Define and develop the business capabilities within their area
  • Produce the Roadmap for the domain working with the EA's, IT Business Partners and Product, and produce the solution contexts for projects in that area
  • Develop the current and future state business process and capability architecture within an IT domain
  • Correlate the requirements across the domain to ensure the delivery of cost effective IT solutions within their domain
  • Understand the business and IT strategies and align the delivery of change to it
  • Understand the Enterprise Architecture and ensure that the delivery of change is in accordance to it
  • Guide projects and programmes to maximise the delivery of business benefit and the realisation of the enterprise architecture
  • Work closely with other Domain Architects and Enterprise Architects to standardise business models and ensure that business capabilities are delivered in the correct way for the enterprise as a whole
  • Deliver business change by balancing the reuse of systems with the delivery of the right functional solution to the problem
  • Participate in product selection process to ensure that the right packages are selected to deliver the best solution for the business within the domain
  • Work with the Solution Architects and project members within the domain to ensure that the high-level requirements of the business are understood by all involved
  • Understand and assist Enterprise Architects in creation and maintenance of the future state architecture for a domain
  • Help resolve cross-domain architecture issues
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Domain Architect or similar role (Enterprise or Senior Solutions Architect) in an IT environment.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified in TOGAF, ITIL, or similar frameworks.
