We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the Conversion squad within the Buyer Experience team in Paris.

About the role

At Vestiaire Collective, we're revolutionizing how buyers and sellers interact on our platform. As a Software Engineer in the Conversion Squad, you'll play a key role in shaping our platform's transactional experience-from designing seamless payment systems to optimizing checkout processes. Your work will directly impact the success of our platform by making transactions smoother, faster, and more secure.

What you will do
  • Participate in designing and developing backend systems for a unified payment solution, enhancing the buyer's checkout experience.
  • Improve scalability and performance of backend systems related to payment processing, invoicing, refunds, and post-purchase actions.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code to support backend infrastructure and ensure platform stability.
  • Contribute to optimizing the payment funnel to increase conversion rates and transaction efficiency.
  • Take ownership of key backend components that influence the buyer experience, ensuring secure and smooth transactions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Fraud, Ops, and Seller Experience to integrate features and optimize workflows.
Who you are
  • At least 5 years of experience as a backend software engineer, with proficiency in PHP (Golang is a plus). English proficiency required; French is a bonus. Please submit your application in English.
  • Autonomous with full ownership of architecture and technical design.
  • Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming and methodologies (SOLID, Domain-Driven Design, Hexagonal Architecture).
  • Experience building scalable, maintainable, and robust backend systems, preferably with PHP.
  • Product-focused, prioritizing end-user experience in feature development.
  • Data-oriented, understanding the importance of monitoring KPIs.
  • Familiar with Agile methodologies (SCRUM/Kanban) and their ceremonies.
