An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Site Agent to join our Thames team, part of Galliford Try. As a Senior Site Agent, you will take full responsibility for managing your section of works, ensuring delivery meets client and company performance expectations. This is a site-based role with travel across multiple locations, so flexibility is essential.

What you will be doing

• Take ownership of day-to-day management of allocated works, including supervision and monitoring of site teams and supply chain partners.
• Plan, control, and monitor progress, coordinating sections of the project as allocated.
• Manage multiple work packages in conjunction with the commercial team, taking full ownership of costs for your section.
• Capture and manage any changes in scope (operations, commercial, programme, or design).
• Understand temporary works requirements and implement value engineering solutions.
• Attend external meetings with clients and stakeholders, building strong relationships.
• Report progress and performance to the Project Manager and assist with cost forecasting, valuation, and reporting systems.
• Lead weekly and monthly site meetings and ensure all teams work to the latest design information.
• Undertake material take-offs, order materials, and reconcile usage.
• Carry out regular Health & Safety checks and CDM audits, ensuring compliance with RAMS, Permit to Work systems, inductions, and safety briefings.
• Resolve unexpected technical issues and maintain strict quality control procedures.
• Ensure site diaries are kept up to date and lead direct reports effectively, including annual PDRs.
• Monitor capability of staff and contractors for current and future workloads, reporting to senior management.
• Identify and assist in introducing new processes, techniques, and innovations on site.

Experience and Qualifications

• HNC or higher in a relevant discipline.
• SMSTS and relevant CSCS card.
• Proficient in Office 365.
• Significant civil engineering experience.
• Ability to manage multiple or large packages of work.
• Skilled in reading and interpreting data, drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Highly organised with strong prioritisation skills.
• Adept at interfacing with site teams, subcontractors, designers, and clients.
• Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 and NEC contracts.
• Proven leadership, delegation, and advanced problem solving skills.
• CAD experience (desirable).
• Temporary Works Coordinator (desirable).
• First Aid certification (desirable).
