Senior Sister/Charge Nurse Band 7 - 37.5 hours per week

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Sister/Charge Nurse position in our Emergency Department.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual that thrives in a fast paced environment who aspires to deliver high quality care within a team of innovative professionals where every individual's contribution is valued.

This role comes at an exciting time, as we have transitioned into a new-state-of-art Emergency Department which is part of a large Emergency Village.

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities:

• Clinical Leadership - Oversee day-to-day running of the ED ensuring safe and efficient patient care and patient flow
• Staff management - supervise, mentor and support nursing staff, fostering professional development
• Patient Care - Ensure high standards of care, focusing on patient safety, dignity and experience
• Service Development - Contribute to improvement of emergency care services, adapting to evolving clinical needs
• Collaboration - Work closely with Doctors, allied health professionals and operations teams
• Resource management - ensure appropriate use of staffing, equipment and facilities

Person Specification Education & Qualifications

• Current NMC registration
• Professional or clinical qualification relevant to the speciality or evidence of working towards
• Evidence of study at degree level
• Supporting learners in practice course

Knowledge

• An understanding of the need of confidentiality awareness at all times.
• Updated research and evidence based practice
• Evidence of further learning

Experience

• Significant experience working in an Emergency Department in a leadership role
• Ability to work autonomously & as part of a team
• Coaching skills
