An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to work within an established 15 bed General Surgical/ Orthopaedic ward with some Elective Surgical activity in Glangwilli General Hospital.We are looking for a compassionate, enthusiastic, motivated individual, with a desire for professional and personal development within this challenging and rewarding role.
Main duties of the jobApplicants should be able to demonstrate the use of evidence-based practice, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with a readiness to innovate and develop nursing within a team approach.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills who will be forward thinking and strive for the highest standards of patient centred care and experience.
The successful candidate will have experience working within an acute Surgical/ Orthopaedic environment. The successful candidate will be a senior member of the multi-disciplinary team and will be a key link with service users and the wider clinical teams within Glangwilli General Hospital in leading and supporting service delivery.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification Qualifications and Knowledge- Current NMC Registration
- Pertinent postgraduate diploma or equivalent development and or experience AND a willingness to undertake appropriate post graduate level study when in post
- Teaching and or Coaching qualification or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of legislation pertinent to role
- Recognised management qualification
- Recognised leadership qualification
- Experience of leading a team
- Proven and relevant experience at Band 6
- Appropriate experience within specialty and able to demonstrate sound knowledge of relevant specialty
- Able to demonstrate sound knowledge of NMC Code 2018
- Proven post-registration experience and evidence of coordinating and managing a team of staff
- Able to demonstrate an awareness of professional issues and developments
- Evidence of leadership skills
- Experience of working in a multi-professional environment
