Job Description

Our client is a well known integrated design and build provider working in the water sector. With over 1,400 staff across eight regional centres, they support six long term water sector frameworks and two recently awarded frameworks, operating both as a sole contractor and in joint ventures and alliances.

As Senior SHEQ Advisor, you will report directly to the SHEQ Manager and play a senior level advisory role within the SHEQ team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand the organisation's approach to managing SHEQ risk and deliver best in class performance at a senior level.
  • Maintain a dynamic and driven approach to supporting SHEQ across the company.
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of policies, procedures, management systems and risk controls to reduce risk and support a positive SHEQ culture.
  • Organise audits and support the delivery and execution of SHEQ assurance audits.
  • Conduct accident/incident investigations or support investigations conducted by the Head of SHEQ.
  • Integrate within wider project teams to understand day to day challenges.
  • Work with clients to deliver collaborative SHEQ approaches.
  • Gain exposure to the project management lifecycle of project delivery.
  • Highlight opportunities for sustainable solutions.
  • Analyse trending key performance data.
  • Maintain externally certified management systems.
Candidate Requirements
  • Ability to collect, analyse and evaluate large volumes of data whilst maintaining data integrity.
  • Ability to identify trends in data and clearly articulate findings.
  • Proven experience as part of a SHEQ team.
  • Ability to interpret legislation and approved codes of practice.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Capability to work both as a team member and independently.
  • Strong communicator, comfortable engaging at all organisational levels.
  • Confidence to make decisions and recognise when escalation is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Visio, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Flexible approach to work time and location.
