Senior Service Engineer

At Hitachi Energy, an exciting opportunity awaits to join the Grid Automation Team as a Senior Field Service Engineer. This role involves contributing to the advancement of power grid technology, positively impacting the world of power grids.

The position entails traveling across the United Kingdom to engage with customers, ensuring maintenance and exceeding service expectations. The role includes being on an 'on call Rota' to provide emergency call-out services, fostering a dynamic environment within a supportive engineering team committed to delivering innovative solutions.

How you'll make an impact:

• Maintain reporting and record systems for customer issues, maintenance, and repairs.
• Provide technical support to customers and colleagues, evaluating technical requirements and addressing queries.
• Fault finding in complex systems.
• Assist Sales & Tendering with customer and site-specific knowledge and experience.
• Prepare technical and test specifications, reports.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Management System, Safety Procedures, and Policies.
• Maintain customer spares and standby systems.
• Prepare method statements and risk assessments for onsite activities.
• Ensure conformity with Hitachi Energy Electrical Safety Management System.
• Understand environmental risks related to the business unit.

Your background:

• Proven industry experience with a willingness to undertake nationwide site work.
• Knowledge of SCADA/RTUs/Electrical protection/Critical Telecommunications solutions.
• Working knowledge of communication networks.
• Familiarity with IEC61850.
• Customer focus; fluent in spoken and written English.
• HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline.
