The function acts as a close advisor to businesses and is engaged in all key initiatives. They should be seen as a strategic partner with deep relationships that proactively identifies, escalates and supports management of risks.The role is as coverage for the Finance and Strategy function including Finance Services Operations and Procurement, supporting the Divisional Risk Officer for the Corporate Functions to identify, assess, manage and monitor their risks. This requires close alignment and coordination with Group Risk colleagues in both central teams (Frameworks, Policy, CEP, Tooling, Cyber, Sustainability, TPRM) and Coverage (Data and Analytics, Markets, Post Trade and Operations). Role Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities: Oversees the identification, analysis and monitoring of key drivers for non-financial risk in the Finance function, and adopts a business partnering approach to providing advice, guidance and challengeDriving the implementation of the Enterprise Risk Framework predominantly supporting the Finance and Strategy function, Acting as a utility to support lead coverage risk managers across 1LOD helping deliver key value adding risk initiatives, providing risk oversight, input and senior internal partner engagement to drive risk insights and proactive problem solving/shaping.Lead and co-ordinate 2LOD oversight of the control enhancement plan being rolled out within the 1LOD to ensure consistency and standardisation, and meeting of business control objectives. Supporting First Line to capture controls to ensure a complete and accurate control inventory. Providing senior risk representation at various risk committees and reporting on control agenda.Identifying and reporting risks to relevant committees, key business partners and senior leaders, providing advice and guidance in all matters relating to risk management for relevant areas.Maintaining strong partnerships across all three lines of defence so that the risk framework has full endorsement from leadership and appropriately addresses their risk management needs.Providing independent Second Line assessment of emerging and change risks associated with new strategic programmes or projects.Supporting the First Line team in delivering and maintaining the Risk and Control Assessment, whilst providing effective and robust review and challenge, ensuring effective risk remediation actions are identified to address control vulnerabilities, ensuring all risks identified as being outside appetite have remediation plans which are monitored through the relevant governance forums.Contributing to the collation and preparation of materials for risk reporting committees.Analysing key risk indicators and management information for new insights.Enables implementation of the Framework and its applicable elements defined by coverage area (e.g. Risk Assessments, Third Party Risk, Data Governance etc.) aligned with the Division's key objectives Skills & Experience Deep understanding and experience of rolling out control frameworks into 1st line areas within Banking / Financial Services with extensive experience in Enterprise Risk Management / Operational Risk Management / Non-Financial Risk Management. Expertise with other risk types considered an advantage. Strong partner management skills, with the credibility, expertise and gravitas to influence at the senior management level. Good judgement with experience of balancing competing factors to deliver optimal outcomes.
