Are you an experienced Recreation Assistant (Lifeguard) looking for the next step in your career? If so, this could be the opportunity for you. GLL is recruiting a Senior Recreation Assistant to work at Trinity Leisure Centre in Carlisle.

Whilst on shift, you'll oversee a team of lifeguards, acting as a mentor and positive role model while supporting and delivering staff training where required.You'll have excellent attention to detail, taking responsibility for maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment for our customers. This will include regular cleaning, basic maintenance, and the preparation of facilities and equipment to ensure they are ready for use.

The role will also involve key-holding responsibilities and periods of lone working, so you'll need to be reliable, proactive and conscientious, with the confidence to take responsibility when required.

Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential, as you'll often be the first point of contact for customers and will be expected to deal with enquiries in a professional and friendly manner.

Health and safety is at the heart of the role. You'll be expected to maintain high operational standards at all times and attend regular pool training sessions to ensure your lifesaving and emergency response skills remain current.

Ideally, you'll have your National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) with up to date NPLQ training records and a First Aid certificate. It is desirable that you also have a Pool Plant Operators qualification.
