Senior R&D Engineer

A unique opportunity for a Senior R&D Engineer to take ownership of complex product development projects and help bring innovative medical technologies from concept to commercialisation.
This is a hands on technical leadership role where you will drive product development activities across the full design lifecycle, working closely with cross functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory and Clinical Affairs.
You will have the opportunity to lead projects, mentor engineers, and influence the development of innovative products within a fast paced and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of medical devices from concept through to design freeze and manufacturing transfer
- Manage technical projects to ensure milestones, budgets, timelines and deliverables are achieved
- Develop product specifications, materials, tooling, equipment and manufacturing processes
- Generate and oversee design verification activities, testing protocols and technical reports
- Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory and design control requirements
- Drive effective transfer of products into manufacturing, including training and process validation support
- Mentor and support junior engineers and technical team members
- Collaborate across R&D, Manufacturing, Quality and Regulatory teams to solve technical challenges and support product development activities
- Continuously improve development processes to enhance efficiency, compliance and innovation
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a related discipline
- 6+ years' experience within the medical device industry
- Proven experience in medical device product development and associated manufacturing processes
- Strong understanding of design controls, product development methodologies and regulated environments
- Demonstrated project management and technical leadership capabilities
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience working in cross functional teams within a fast paced environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
