The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Quality Manager to join our dynamic team. This role will report directly to the Head of Quality and is a critical leadership role managing a team of quality experts and working alongside the Ethical, Sourcing & Sustainability functions to name a few.
In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of technical quality, fit, and compliance across all product categories. You will lead quality assurance strategies, manage technical teams, and work collaboratively with cross-functional departments, factories, and suppliers to maintain and elevate our brand's reputation and quality strategy for excellence. Delivering safe, compliant and commercial product, supporting sales and profitability through the delivery of consistent product quality, sizing & fit, to ensure customer satisfaction, maximise sales and mitigate customer returns.
The Team:
In our quality world we obsess about our products' quality, design, and fit. We collaborate daily with Buying, Sourcing and Ethical across the Debenhams brands. We even have an in-house lab. For us, it's all about speed, being commercial and ensuring our customers look and feel their best.
Strong leadership skills to support the quality assurance and technical teams across multiple production locations.
Have a confidence, and influential presence with team and varying levels of stakeholders
Be motivating, positive and resilient with the fast pace we work at, a can do approach is needed
Strong planning and organisational skills and able to prioritise workload
Oversee all aspects of product quality, fit approval, compliance, and technical specifications, standardising and creating a consistency, and vision to improve it
Have an understanding of base patterns and grading
Develop and implement robust quality management systems to ensure adherence to company standards and customer requirements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce returns, improve customer satisfaction, and enhance efficiency across the supply chain.
Collaborate closely with buying, sourcing, Ethical and production teams to ensure product integrity is maintained throughout the development lifecycle.
Hands on approach, with supporting the team to conduct regular factory and supplier audits, risk assessments, and performance reviews to ensure alignment with company policies and ethical standards.
Lead the resolution of technical challenges related to fabrics, construction, and manufacturing processes.
Be forward thinking with ways of working and continuous improvement processes and strategies, with profitability at the forefront
Develop goals and team objectives from our business strategy, implement and monitor progress
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations, testing standards, and sustainability requirements

More about you:
We would like you have experience in a senior technical quality role, ideally within an online fashion retailer or supplier so that you are able to show a good understanding of product quality standards, regulatory requirement and testing methodologies and have prover leadership skills.
You will have strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive informed decisions, you will be able to show exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Experience in quality and technical management within the garments/apparel industry.
Strong expertise in garment construction, textiles, fit, pattern making, and manufacturing processes.
In-depth knowledge of international quality standards (AQL, ISO, etc.), compliance protocols, and sustainability best practices.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop technical and QA teams across multiple sites.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both internal stakeholders and external partners.
Detail-oriented, analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
