Salary: £34,452 - £40,501 (pro rata for part time and sessional)
Hours: 30 per week, 39 weeks sessional
About the roleWestfield Secondary School is looking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Senior Pupil Support Officer who is educated to SVQ Level 7. The successful candidate will plan flexible programmes of interventions that meet the specific needs of all learners across a range of wellbeing areas, and prepare PSO's to deliver these, quality assure, and provide evidence of impact.
Westfield Secondary School is a non denominational additional support needs school for secondary age learners with a wide range of social, emotional and complex learning needs. The school provides a nurturing environment in which attainment and achievement are supported through the development of positive relationships and high levels of personalisation.
Skills and ExperienceThis position is suitable for a current PSO. Experience of the following is desirable:
- Trauma Informed Practice
- Building Flexible Interventions
- Engaging disengaged learners
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out of the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. This check must be provided. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of these pre employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
