Are you looking for a new challenge and the next step in your Public Health Intelligence career? This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop the Public Health Intelligence function within the Barking & Dagenham Public Health team as our Senior Public Health Intelligence Specialist. This role is crucial in enabling public health to support the Council and partners by ensuring decision-making is informed by tailored evidence and intelligence. The post offers the opportunity to shape the Public Health Intelligence function in collaboration with a Public Health Consultant, Director of Public Health, and other key partners, to meet the needs of the Council, the Barking & Dagenham Place Based Partnership, and community organizations. The post holder will be a senior member of the public health team, contributing to its leadership, and will have opportunities to collaborate across the North East London Integrated Care Board.

Main duties of the jobThe successful candidate will:
- Support the Barking and Dagenham Place-based Partnership by prioritising resources and activities based on up-to-date data on population health needs and high-quality public health intelligence and analysis.
- Decide on policy, strategy, and actions informed by population health and inequalities data, aiming to improve overall health outcomes.
- Develop and use population health management approaches initiated by NEL ICB and the Barking and Dagenham Partnership.
- Lead the development of key reports, including the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment and targeted deep-dive assessments, collaborating with key stakeholders and integrating quantitative and qualitative data.
- Ensure the timely collection and processing of data for national reporting standards, such as NHS Health Checks and the National Child Measurement Programme.

Job responsibilitiesThe Senior Public Health Intelligence Specialist will lead and advise on public health intelligence to foster an insight-driven decision-making culture. The role involves delivering traditional and integrated data functions, building partnerships, managing data analysis, and providing insights to improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities. The post will involve working closely with the Council's Insights and Innovations Team, NEL ICB, and other partners. Supervision of team members may be part of the role.
Person Specification Qualifications- Masters degree or equivalent in epidemiology, medical statistics, or a related field.
