We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our New Verticals team. You'll work across discovery, growth, merchandising & campaign work for Grocery and Shopping.

We are a hybrid first business, and the expectation is to attend the office 3x weekly on average.

About the team you'll be joining

New Verticals is a small yet highly productive team. In 2024, we achieved one of the most significant growth contributions within the entire business.

Our work encompasses both innovative 0 to 1 projects and initiatives that require significant awareness-building, impactful campaigns, and the successful launch of new categories and collections!

As a full-stack design team encompassing content, research, and localisation, we collaborate closely with our Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams to successfully execute our product strategy.

Working across both Partner and Consumer products provides us with a diverse range of experiences and challenges, making our work incredibly varied and rewarding.

What you'll be doing
  • Drive excellence and champion consistency, a high degree of UI craft, and the inclusion of illustration and animation in our products. Scheduling and facilitating regular meetings for planning and critique of design work.
  • Work closely with your team and other designers in defining, designing and iterating on product features across web and mobile platforms.
  • Proactively communicate changes and updates, gathering feedback to adjust the system, and unblocking designers as they run into issues.   • Shape product strategy and vision by working together with user research and product managers.
  • Assist with technical implementation: Work closely with engineering who build the experiences and also help contribute to the design system when needed.
  • Contribute to team culture, events and community of practice.
What you'll need to thrive

Our ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in some of these areas, with a willingness to grow in others:

  • Are a keen problem solver - you enjoy thinking through complex product challenges and care about solving the right problem
  • Have a well trained eye for great visual design execution. You care about getting things right - one pixel off is a big deal.
  • Take a strategic view to everything you do - your work stands the test of time
  • Are fantastic at communicating your thinking and design decisions - you're able to get people along on the journey with you
  • Are well versed at working with disciplines in your work to achieve the best outcome, such as user research, data science, content and engineering.
  • Enjoy mentoring others in their professional development as designers
  • Have several years' experience in an individual contributor role on a product design team and experience in leading collaborative sessions, coaching and mentoring your fellow designers
  • Can pivot between tactical, conceptual and comms work - this role is a multi-faceted one where you'll need to be able to pivot between tasks and apply yourself to different areas of the business when needed.
