General DescriptionThe University of Oxford is seeking an experienced postdoctoral researcher to join a high-impact collaborative research environment at the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology. The Senior Postdoctoral Research Assistant will work at the interface of academia and industry as an integral member of the Experimental Medicine Collaboration (EMC), a partnership combining Oxford's strengths in immunological research with GlaxoSmithKline's drug discovery and development expertise. The position is based at the Experimental Medicine Clinical Research Facility (EMCRF) and offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting edge work in immune mediated inflammatory disease. Successful candidates will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support high quality research aligned with the department's mission to advance understanding of disease mechanisms and accelerate therapeutic innovation. The role is full time, fixed term, and on site at the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology.
Eligibility Criteria- A doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in Immunology or a closely related discipline.
- Post qualification research experience, with a strong publication record demonstrating scholarly impact.
- Evidence of independent research project management and successful collaboration across wet and dry laboratory environments.
- Demonstrated interest in experimental medicine and immune mediated inflammatory disease.
- Proficiency in standard laboratory immunology techniques, including human tissue handling and culture, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and flow cytometry.
- Ability to integrate into multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with scientific leads across tissue biology, computational/bioinformatics, data management, and clinical domains.
- Strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills appropriate for a leading research role.
Grade 8 salary range: £49,119 to £58,265 per annum, inclusive of Oxford University pensionable weighting (approx. £1,730).
