Job Description

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Town Planner to the role of Senior Planning Officer in our busy Development Management team. The role offers you the opportunity to deal with a broad and varied caseload, including applications for major housing and employment developments.

Responsibilities
  • Handle a broad and varied caseload including applications for major housing and employment developments.
  • Undertake site visits as required.
  • Use Zoom and Microsoft Teams and attend in person meetings.
  • Deliver high quality planning outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Recognised qualification in Planning, a related subject or equivalent experience.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
  • Membership of the RTPI desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong judgment, initiative and a desire to develop experience in delivering planning outcomes.

This Senior Planning Officer post attracts a recruitment incentive payment of £2,996 as a welcome to the Council. In certain conditions an additional retention incentive payment of £2,996 may also be applicable on the anniversary of your appointment if you remain in service in an eligible role or team. The payments will be pro rata for part time employees and are subject to normal employee deductions (pension, NI, tax) and other terms and conditions apply.
