An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Payroll / Accounts Assistant to join the finance team of a well-established, multi-site organisation. This is a varied position combining end-to-end payroll ownership with accounts payable and employee-record administration.

The role

You will take responsibility for delivering accurate and timely payroll processing while supporting the wider finance and HR teams.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the complete payroll process using Sage Payroll and Bizimply
• Maintaining accurate employee and payroll records
• Processing accounts payable invoices and supporting documentation
• Completing payroll, supplier invoice and till-sheet data entry
• Reconciling payroll accounts and submitting relevant information
• Preparing reports for management review
• Supporting employee-record administration and onboarding documentation
• Investigating and resolving payroll or accounts discrepancies
• Working closely with the finance and HR teams across multiple locations

What you'll need

• Previous payroll administration or accounts-support experience within a busy organisation
• Experience using Sage Payroll, Bizimply or similar payroll systems
• Familiarity with Sage Accounts, Excel, SharePoint or equivalent packages
• Knowledge of accounts payable and reconciliation processes
• Strong numerical and analytical ability
• Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
• An understanding of employee-record management
• The ability to identify discrepancies and resolve queries effectively
