Job Description

On behalf of a Central Government department, I am looking for a Senior Pay and Reward Manager, specifically withing the Digital and Data space. You will be responsible for the design and development of the reward strategy, to reflect changing business models for the delivery of digital and data services.

You will be required on a contract basis, inside IR35, for 6 months.

Predominantly remote (1 day per week in the office).

Role Responsibilities:

  • You will primarily focus on the pay and reward framework for the Government's Digital and Data profession of over 25,000 across multiple departments.
  • Market pay analysis to inform the drafting of new 2025 business cases on
  1. Senior Civil Service roles
  2. Cyber roles
  3. Current Government Digital and Data roles
  • Capture and analyse UK employment practice on bonuses and non-pay benefits to help build a profession-led reward approach for a future business case.
  • Review and analyse departments' business cases to adopt, or extend, the pay framework focusing on:
  1. Spreadsheet analysis of department's data, and savings estimates
  2. Template completion
  3. Advising and supporting Implementation preparation
  4. Advising and supporting new adopting on capability assessment
  • Build a library of adopting departments documentation and agreements connected to framework implementation.
  • Support the pay and reward lead where necessary

Skills/Experience required:

  • Strong analytical skills, modelling pay data, drawing inferences, testing models.
  • Proficient with Excel (pivot tables, some whatif').
  • Proven experience with successfully Influencing stakeholders.
  • Previous experience working in a pay and reward role; using market data, helping design pay and benefit practice and addressing challenges relating to pay and reward.
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of reward tools and practices, and evidence of implementation.
  • Experience with external pay bench-marking & working with data to inform strategy.
  • Demonstrable evidence of thinking critically, using analysis and challenging assumptions.
