Job Description

We have a new opportunity for a Senior Paraplanner to join our clients based in the City of London. The Senior Paraplanner within the UK Additions Team analyses client portfolios and accounts to provide FCA-regulated advice on areas such as pension transfers, bond surrenders, investment taxation, and account structure suitability. Reporting to the team leader, this role is client-facing and involves conducting fact-finding discussions, writing suitability reports, and delivering advice directly to clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct fact-finding calls with clients to assess objectives, portfolio holdings, time horizons, cash flow needs, and overall financial situation to determine suitable asset allocation recommendations.
  • Review and develop plans for clients with highly specialised situations.
  • Analyse clients' existing pension and investment bond arrangements to determine whether a transfer or surrender is appropriate.
  • Communicate advice directly to clients in a clear and professional manner.
  • Prepare written proposals and recommendations, presenting them to clients to ensure understanding.
  • Collaborate with other departments to deliver optimal client outcomes, including developing resources and providing training.
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects aimed at improving operational efficiency.
  • Adhere to compliance requirements and internal procedures to ensure regulatory standards are met in the provision of regulated advice.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Level 4 Qualification preferred (CII Regulated Diploma in Financial Planning or CISI Investment Advice Diploma).
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in financial services.
  • Strong understanding of financial planning principles and client suitability.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and collaborate effectively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Required to complete an initial Fit & Proper (F&P) assessment prior to independent practice, with annual assessments thereafter.
