Senior Operator in Biofuels & Jet

Job Summary
We are seeking a driven and experienced Senior Operator - Biofuels and Jet to join our operations team within a dynamic trading company. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in operations related to biofuels and jet fuel, solid knowledge of shipping logistics, and a strong commercial mindset. The role requires a proactive and motivated professional with the ability to delegate and coordinate tasks effectively within the team, ensuring efficient execution of trades and smooth cargo handling.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle all operational aspects of biofuels and jet fuel cargoes from deal confirmation to delivery
- Deal directly with shipping activities, including vessel nominations, terminals coordination, and management of documentation (e.g., bills of lading, customs, LCs).
- Develop and maintain operational plans and schedules to ensure timely and efficient execution of cargoes.
- Act as a point of reference within the operations team, delegating tasks and coordinating effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth workflows.
- Track execution progress, anticipate potential delays, and take proactive steps to ensure delivery commitments are met.
- Liaise with external stakeholders such as shipping agents, terminals and inspectors for operational follow-up.
- Ensure all tasks are executed in compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. Address and resolve any operational issues or discrepancies quickly and professionally.
- Support ongoing improvements in operational procedures and promote internal knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in operations for biofuels products or jet -ideally within a trading environment.
- Strong understanding of shipping logistics, incoterms, and trading documentation.
- Ability and willingness to take on delegation and coordination responsibilities within the team over time.
- Commercial awareness and ability to assess operational impact on trading decisions.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with biofuels/ jet regulations
- Familiarity with jet fuel blending or terminal operations.
- Prior experience in a team lead or mentoring role within operations is a plus
