Pay Rate: £38.46 - £42.15 per hour PAYE depending upon experience

Hours: 37 per week

Length of Contract: 2-3 months

Location: Great Manchester, M50 1SW

Our client is seeking an experienced operational leader with a passion for service excellence and team performance. You will be a highly motivated Senior Operations Manager overseeing the effective delivery of frontline services within Streetscene & Environmental Services, including Street Cleansing, Winter Weather Services, and Waste & Recycling collections. Ideally you will have a background in Waste Services or a similar background in operations/logistics.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support operational delivery across Streetscene & Environmental Services, including Waste, Recycling, Street Cleansing, and Winter Weather operations.
• Manage daily site operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and a strong safety culture.
• Lead, motivate, and develop large multi-disciplinary teams to maximise productivity and performance.
• Plan and monitor service delivery, ensuring operational targets and standards are met.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to maintain service quality and resolve operational challenges.
• Contribute to strategic planning and service development initiatives.

Candidate Criteria

• Significant experience in managing large-scale, frontline operational services and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Proven ability to lead teams through change while maintaining focus on service delivery and staff engagement.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage colleagues, partners, and stakeholders with confidence and credibility.
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
• While experience in Waste Services is desirable, candidates from similar operational or logistics environments are encouraged to apply.
