Purpose of the role:

The Senior Operations Manager is the key leader for the UK CCC, responsible for shaping a site culture that is emphatically people-first and data-led. Your primary purpose is to engage and inspire the entire UK operational function, building a highly driven, high-performing team that is grounded in employee happiness and continuous improvement.

As the site owner, you will act as the primary advocate for Operational Excellence, balancing long-term strategic growth with flawless daily execution. This position expands beyond standard operations to include full ownership of facilities management, cross-regional alignment, and implementing strategic initiatives. You will partner with senior leaders across Operations, People, and Finance to ensure the UK CCC is resourced effectively, operates within budget, and consistently achieves its global performance goals.

Key responsibilities: Leadership & Strategic Oversight
  • Lead and coach UK Team Leaders, fostering a culture of empowerment, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Act as a strategic partner, contributing to long-term planning, resourcing, and budget management.

  • Support succession planning and leadership development across the UK CCC.

  • Act as a visible champion for MPB's culture and values, fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment that encourages learning and experimentation.

Facilities & Site Management
  • Oversee all aspects of facilities management, including workplace organisation, building maintenance, health and safety, and vendor relationships.

  • Ensure the UK CCC remains a safe, efficient, and inspiring environment that supports productivity and employee wellbeing.

  • Partner with Facilities, People, and Sustainability teams to implement workplace improvements and drive local engagement initiatives.

  • Proactively identify operational risks and opportunities, developing and implementing solutions that deliver measurable improvements in security and safety of our assets.

Operational Excellence
  • Maintain ownership of site-wide processes, ensuring consistency, compliance, and operational best practice.

  • Oversee daily resourcing and capacity planning, aligning staffing levels with operational demand across multiple teams.

  • Drive efficiency through process improvement projects, in collaboration with Product, Customer Experience, Inventory, and Fraud teams.

  • Ensure the CCC operates within health and safety standards, regulatory frameworks, and MPB's internal policies.

Performance & Reporting
  • Own UK 's daily and weekly operational performance reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Leverage Tableau dashboards and other analytical tools to monitor KPIs (e.g., throughput, GMV contribution, SLA performance, backlog control).

  • Provide strategic insights to senior leadership, identifying risks and opportunities for growth and efficiency.

  • Manage performance against budget, partnering with Finance to maintain cost discipline.

What we are looking for
  • Proven senior leadership experience in a high-volume, fast-paced operational environment.

  • Strong track record in strategic operations management, including budget accountability and cross-functional alignment.

  • Demonstrable experience managing people managers, operations and workplace safety.

  • Analytical ability with knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets for data-driven decision-making.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of influencing at senior levels.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance tactical execution with strategic priorities.
