Senior Nurse for Patient Flow

An exciting opportunity for a permanent position as a nurse leader with experience in patient flow, to support delivery of safe, effective and timely care across the Princess of Wales hospital site and as part of the wider Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board team.
This role requires a strong role model for professional leadership with an open-minded, can do attitude to improving patient flow through a whole system approach. A highly effective communicator and team player will support the wider team to promote a safe and positive patient experience.
A highly motivated and confident nature will support the culture that fosters empowerment, collaborative learning and continuous professional development. The post holder will actively support the organisation's ability to respond to change and continuously improve.
Main duties of the jobThe Senior Nurse for Patient Flow will be responsible for the safe and effective use of staff resources on a day-to-day basis in accordance with need and appropriate skill level within the designated teams, ensuring timely, safe and effective transfer of care/discharge.
Ensure positive patient experience, reduction in harm, waste and variation. This includes leading digital transformation and supporting the nursing workforce to confidently work with innovative technologies.
They will support a culture that fosters empowerment, collaborative learning and continuous professional development.
The Senior Nurse will actively support the organisation's ability to respond to change and continuously improve by fostering a transformative approach to leadership style and management.
Essentially, the Senior Nurse will support the delivery of safe and effective patient flow within available resources.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short listing and selecting candidates. This isn't "fluency", just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. - Delivery of safe and effective patient flow within available resources.
- Registered Nurse
- Master's Degree or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience to its equivalency
- Extensive experience of patient flow and discharge pathways
- Ward/team management experience. Experience of working within discharge Multidiscpilinary team setting.
- Demonstration of ability to manage complex situations
- Substantial post registration experience including clinical leadership, team management
- Previous experience of working within the health and social services systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - verbal and written.
- Managing people and resources effectively
- Ability to build effective relationships with health professionals within the UHB and with external organisations
- Welsh language speaking/listening skills at Level 3 or above
