The role requires expertise in designing, implementing, and managing complex on-premises and public cloud network infrastructure to support Ithaca Energy's onshore and offshore operations.

Understanding the risks and rewards of failing fast and implementing fit-for-purpose or 'minimum viable product' solutions where appropriate is important, while ensuring security, integrity, and availability are maintained. You should also understand the features of, and dependencies between, technical infrastructure components when considering changes, upgrades, or replacements.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain scalable and secure network solutions to support Ithaca Energy's business operations onshore and offshore.
  • Configure and maintain routing, switching, and Wi-Fi infrastructure to ensure high availability, resilience, and performance.
  • Implement and maintain Palo Alto Firewalls and Global Protect VPN to ensure high levels of network security, access control, and threat prevention.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex network issues with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and other departments on network-related projects, including cloud, application delivery, security, and infrastructure initiatives.
  • Maintain up-to-date network diagrams and documentation, and ensure adherence to security best practices and compliance standards.
  • Act as your own project manager to ensure timely and specifications-compliant delivery of tasks.
  • Ensure solutions align with company standards and legal/regulatory obligations.
  • Achieve agreed performance and availability metrics.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, service improvement, and avoidance.
  • Stay informed about emerging network technologies and industry trends to continually enhance network infrastructure.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or significant experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the upstream Oil and Gas industry.
  • Experience in network administration, analysis, and engineering in medium to large enterprise environments.
  • Ability to quickly learn new products/technologies and embrace new ideas.
  • Creative, innovative, and willing to challenge the status quo.
  • Responsible, proactive, with a strong focus on delivery.
  • Excellent prioritization skills, capable of handling complex and demanding situations.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional Routing and Switching (CCNP R&S) or equivalent.
  • PCNSE or advanced experience with Palo Alto Firewalls.
  • ITIL v4 Foundation Certification preferred.

We are committed to building a diverse organization with a variety of backgrounds, skills, and perspectives. If you meet most of these criteria, we encourage you to apply.
