This is asenior technical architecturerole for anexperienced .NET professionalwho enjoys shapingcomplex software solutions, influencing technicaldirection and workingclosely with engineeringteams and businessstakeholders. You'll playa key rolein defining modern.NET and MicrosoftAzuresolutions, ensuring theyare scalable, secure, maintainable and alignedwith wider businessobjectives.

The Opportunity

As Software Architect, you'lltake ownership ofsolution-level architectureacross new softwaredevelopment initiatives.You'll work closelywith product, projectand technical stakeholdersto translate businessrequirements into robusttechnical solutions, whileprovidingarchitectural leadershipto development teams.

The role offersthe opportunity towork with modernMicrosoft technologies,includingAzure PaaS, and to influencethe evolution ofsoftware platforms withina complex enterpriseenvironment.

Whatyou'll be doing

• Define and design software architectures that meet business, functionaland non-functionalrequirements.
• Make architectural decisionscoveringscalability, performance, security, resilience,maintainability and accessibility.
• Translate business andtechnical requirementsinto practical, scalablesoftware solutions.
• Lead architectural discussions withproduct managers, projectmanagers, developers, technicalleads and otherstakeholders.
• Establish and promote softwarearchitecture standards,patterns and bestpractices.
• Provide technical leadershipand guidance todevelopment teams throughoutthe software developmentlifecycle.
• Review designs and code to ensure solutions adhere to agreed architectural andengineering standards.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies and challenges, developing appropriatemitigation strategies.
• Evaluate and recommend technologies, frameworks and tools in line with the wider technologystrategy.
• Contribute to thesoftware development roadmapand support proof-of-concept initiativeswhere appropriate.
• Support development teams withcomplex technical issuesand troubleshooting whenrequired.
• Mentor and coach developers and other technical team members, helping to raiseengineering capability.
• Ensure software development and implementation align with organisational standardsand governance.

We're looking fora strong.NET/Azure technicalarchitectwith a proventrackrecord of designingand delivering complexsoftware solutionsinan enterprise environment.

Essential experience

• Extensive commercial experiencewithC#, .NET Frameworkand modern .NET.
• Strong practical experiencedesigning and developingsolutions onMicrosoft Azure.
• Strong understanding ofAzure PaaSservices and clouddevelopment patterns.
• Proven experience designing complex, scalable and maintainablesoftware systems.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture patterns, development principlesand engineering bestpractices.
• Experience withSQL Server andEntity Framework.
• Strong understanding ofREST APIs andAPI-led integration.
• Experience withAzure DevOpsand modern softwaredelivery practices.
• Familiarity withSonarQubeand code-quality practices.
• Experience consideringnon-functional requirements(NFRs)including performance,security, scalability andresilience.
• Awarenessofaccessibility standardsand their applicationwithin software solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability toexplain technical conceptsand influence stakeholdersat different levels.
• Experience providing technical leadership,mentoring and guidanceto software developmentteams.

Desirable experience

• Experience with front-end technologies suchasJavaScript, React, HTML, CSS and jQuery.
• Experienceworking within large-scale enterprise ortransformation programmes.
• Experience establishing or evolvingsoftware architecture standardsand governance.
• Experience with proof-of-concept developmentand technology evaluation.
